Social Determinants of health are social factors that could positive or negatively impact ones health. If a certain population lacks one of these factors, for example: education, that population suffers a disparity that impacts their health negatively.
Social Determinants are similar to the pillars that made up the ancient Greek buildings below. If one pillar falls off it disrupts the balance needed to keep the building standing strong and healthy. Similarly social determinants are the pillars that maintain one's health.
