Our Mission

To relieve the poor and distressed and advance education through the promotion of health, with an emphasis on raising awareness of public health disparities and empowering students to alleviate health disparities in their own communities. 

Health Disparities

Health disparities are the inequalities that occur in healthcare provision and access across different racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and other groups. Millions of Americans suffer from health disparities in one way or another, leading to an unjust variation in health status between specific groups. 

Location: Wayne State University, Student Center Building.

Start a Chapter

Students are welcome to start their own MedEq Student Chapter at their College or University. Simply think of a disparity that you care about alleviating in your community and submit the Start a Chapter Form. As a registered chapter you are eligible for funding! Learn more below!

Propose a Project

Students are encouraged to submit a proposal about a health equity related cause or community project they would like to pursue. The MedEq team will either fully fund for you or use our nonprofit outlets to fund raise for you. Let us help you make your ideas possible!

Apply for Scholarships

We love to support  and encourage students with innovative ideas to help achieve health equity. We offer a few essay based scholarships that will be announced at our annual conference in April! To apply to this scholarship, submit the scholarship form. Learn more below!
